Drama4ALL offers free drama workshops to primary schools in London, Nottingham and the South-East. Last year, over 350,000 KS1 children across 2,000 schools participated in these imaginative and energetic sessions.
Each workshop is 30 minutes long, designed for up to 30 children in a large space like a school hall.
Facilitated by a DBS-checked trained actor, the sessions feature a different theme each term, providing an engaging introduction to the performing arts or a fun treat during the school day.
Yes! Drama4ALL is sponsored by Perform, the UK's leading provider of drama, dance, and singing classes for children aged 4-12. In exchange for your free workshop, we simply ask for your help in distributing a letter and flyer to parents about Performs weekly classes.
Your workshop leader will also provide information about Perform For Schools drama activities for KS1 and KS2, including topic-based Explorer Workshops, After School Clubs, and INSET sessions designed to enhance classroom learning. You'll also be asked to complete a feedback form to help us continually improve.
Step into Mrs Tuppence's magical toyshop, where toys come to life at the stroke of midnight, but only children can enter once the magic begins! When a stern businessman named Peyton Pixel threatens to shut the shop down, it's up to the toys with the help of your pupils, to show him the true magic of play.
Whether you're looking for a fresh angle on a traditional topic, a fun weekly after school club or an inspiring INSET on using drama in the classroom, a visit from Perform For Schools could be the answer.
Every week, almost 8000 children attend Perform after-school and weekend workshops at venues across the UK. The classes focus on developing confidence and social skills in a fun and lively way via the performing arts.
With over 15 years of experience, all our teachers are recruited, DBS and reference-checked, trained and employed directly by us.
So, you can be confident that you will be in the very best of hands.
Rather than using elaborate props or costumes, Perform Schools prefer to focus on children's natural creativity, vision and inventiveness to bring subjects to life.
All of the classes and workshops use tried and tested drama techniques and our teachers encourage children to use their imaginations to recreate historic moments, rewrite scenes and stories, empathise with characters and get lost in an adventure. In Perform for Schools experience, that means children are able to focus on creating a world themselves leading to better retention and a greater depth of understanding of the material covered.
Not only will the children be immersed in the chosen topic, they'll also be developing the 4 Cs (confidence, communication, concentration and coordination) and having fun at the same time. What could be better?
All of our workshops have been designed in line with the National Curriculum and our Imagination First protocol ensures that all children have the opportunity to improvise, devise and script drama without limitations. Pupils will be able to adopt, create and sustain a range of roles, responding appropriately to others in role and participate in the artistic practice of drama.
