WCUxVeolia

In Westminster, Veolia is collaborating with the Westminster Children's University on several environmentally friendly and educational initiatives. Here's an overview of their fantastic work and how it's making a difference

Garden Enhancements: The project includes expanding garden beds for student use, making them wonderful places for learning and growing plants. There are exciting plans for further improvements by September 2025, which will provide even more outdoor learning opportunities for students.

Community Space Renovation: In July 2025, Veolia renovated spaces beside their facilities, cleaning and preparing them for ongoing community use. These spaces serve as valuable resources for community events and activities.

Educational and Aesthetic Improvements: We've installed educational globes and created a beautiful wildlife mural to follow in 2026. These additions not only beautify the area but also offer educational stimuli, sparking curiosity and learning among students and visitors alike.

Veolia has also launched a creative competition themed around community pride, sustainability, and recycling. They're inviting young people to submit artwork designs for new recycling bin housings outside Pimlico tube station. These designs, which can be created in any format, should reflect themes of taking care of the environment and fostering community spirit.

The competition is open to individuals up to the age of 25, and there is no limit to the number of designs that can be submitted. Winning designs will be displayed prominently, and the top 10 winners will receive eco-friendly goodies and a special tour of a state-of-the-art recycling facility. Submissions are due by Friday, 31st October, and can be sent via email or post.

This collaboration between Veolia and the Westminster Children's University exemplifies how businesses can play a pivotal role in education and community engagement, fostering a more sustainable and connected future.
