Grow Your OWN potatoes and Nutrition resources

Welcome back

I hope you are settling in to your new ways of working and getting used to your new 'normal'. One thing that hasn't changed is the need to find exciting ways to educate the children in your class. As a school that has taken part in GYOP in the past you are well aware of its benefits and how entertaining it can be for the children involved, so sign up now and don't forget to include GYOP in your lesson planning for 2021.

This year has been a strange one and we have been encouraged by the determination of the schools involved to see the project through to the end,  As a thank you we are determined to make GYOP 2021 bigger and better than ever, so sign up NOW and don't miss out.

NEW for 2021

Plans are well under way for 2021, including a NEW Block of Work, based around the theme of potatoes, with cross-curricular links to other subject areas.

Designed to be used in conjunction with GYOP between planting and harvesting, the project fits perfectly into term 4 and runs for six weeks from w/c 19 April to w/c 28 May 2020. It can be adapted to fit any year group and has versions to fit with the curriculum in England, Scotland & Wales. More details to follow.

Celebrate your success

Now the children are back in school why not show your appreciation for all the hard work of those who looked after your growing plants during lockdown:

  • A great way to share achievements in school by displaying a  GYOP certificate
  • Show your thanks to those who looked after your plants during lockdown with the  Applause Award
